We are currently recruiting for an experienced Air Export Clerk to join a small, friendly freight forwarding business based in the Sunbury area. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a close-knit team and taking ownership of the full export process.
Role Overview
This is a start-to-finish position where you'll manage all aspects of air export consignments, including completing customs entries. You'll play a key role in ensuring shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and in line with current regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle air export shipments from initial booking to final delivery
- Complete customs entries accurately and within deadlines
- Prepare and process export documentation, including AWBs, commercial invoices, and customs declarations
- Book shipments with airlines and coordinate collections and deliveries
- Liaise with customers, airlines, and third-party service providers
- Monitor and update customers on shipment status
- Ensure all work is compliant with export legislation and company procedures
- Assist colleagues with general operational support as needed
Requirements
- Experience in air export freight forwarding
- Proven ability to complete customs entries (knowledge of CDS/CHIEF is desirable)
- Strong understanding of export documentation and processes
- Confident using freight systems and Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A proactive, hands-on team player
