Right Now Group is currently partnered with a prestigious international organisation looking to secure a proactive Mechanical Development Engineer to help design & monitor product performance and development, improve efficiency and to predominantly ensure product standards meet customer expectations.
This role would be well suited to candidates with backgrounds in Mechanical Engineering, particularly to those with prior/current experience within NPI experience/ Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical design or development, particularly from Engineering or Manufacturing related industries.
Location: Guildford.
Salary: 40-45k
Job Title: Mechanical Development Engineer
Role Type: Full-Time Permanent
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the design and development of novel products and systems which meet the requirements of the MRD/PRD.
- Rapid response to customer requests for product-related ideas or changes.
- Leading and delivering Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VAVE) projects supporting supply chain.
- Initiating, driving, and communicating ENR/ECN process for product related releases and changes.
- Prototyping and testing concepts and ideas for development and implementation.
- Managing current and legacy product changes including reliability improvement projects and customer requests.
- Test and validation using tools such as DFMEA\’s and other DfR techniques.
- New concept generation and exploration for both new product and legacy product development
- Drawing checking and other design team supporting functions such as design reviews
- Previous experience within Mechanical, Design or NPI engineering, ideally within Manufacturing or Engineering related industries
- Knowledge or qualification within six sigma
- Working knowledge of SolidWorks or equivalent. PDM experience highly desirable
- Electro-Mechanical/ Electrical skills
- Understanding of product compliance, UL, CE etc
- Desire to improve and develop upon existing processes
- Attention to detail and methodical nature
