Right Now Group are currently partnered with an International Software client and industry leader closely linked to the engineering sector. They have an open vacancy within their Field Service Engineering team in the Manchester region following a continued period of sustained growth. If you are an experienced field‑based electrician/technician or have prior hands‑on experience or qualifications in electronics, vehicle mechanics, re‑manufacturing, assembly, general maintenance, engineering or facilities maintenance, this role could be a perfect fit.
IMPORTANT: Full training will be provided as well as a company van. All applicants must have a full driver’s licence due to the nature of this role.
Field Service Engineer
- Weekly Hours: 4 on 4 off – 12 hour shifts
- Salary: £14.16 per hour
- Role Type: Full‑time, Temp to Perm
- Location: Manchester – Field Based
Responsibilities
- Carry out remedial maintenance requested by customers
- Participate in and perform machine installations and commissioning as required
- Maintain all technical documentation and keep it up to date
- Promote best practice in all duties
- Complete Work Dockets and reports as part of service and maintenance procedures
- Assist in maintaining organisational charts for customers to support networking
- Help produce weekly and monthly reports
Desirable Qualifications
- Previous experience in a field service engineering or technician role
- Mechanical/electrical knowledge with experience in maintenance or some form of mechanics/electrics
- Experience working out on the road from a van or car
- Good customer relationship skills
- Flexible approach to working hours and days
- Ability to work under pressure
- Strong problem‑solving skills
- Capability to work independently and as part of a team
