Right Now Group are recruiting for a Cargo Office Team Leader to join one of the leading cargo ground handlers based at Heathrow Airport. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Cargo Agent or current Team Leader looking to take the next step in their career within a fast-paced and professional environment.
Key Responsibilities of the Cargo Office Team Leader:
- Supervise, mentor, and lead a team of cargo agents, ensuring productivity, motivation, and professional development
- Oversee import and export operations using designated systems, ensuring accuracy and adherence to airline, customs, and CAA regulations
- Coordinate with internal departments and external agencies including GSAs, Airlines, and Freight Agents
- Ensure all cargo handling activities are compliant with Health & Safety and Security procedures
- Monitor and improve operational processes, identifying areas for efficiency and leading corrective actions
- Act as a communication bridge between Operational Clerks and Management, relaying relevant operational updates
- Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient working environment, leading by example
- Support the implementation of new practices and participate in ongoing training initiatives
- Handle customer inquiries professionally, resolving issues promptly to maintain excellent service standards
Skills & Experience Required for the Cargo Office Team Leader:
- Strong working knowledge of airline, import/export, and cargo operational requirements
- Hands-on experience using ABS or similar cargo handling systems
- Knowledge of dangerous goods regulations (certified or willing to undergo training)
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Positive attitude with adaptability in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Strong understanding of Security and Health & Safety procedures
- Proven ability to coach, train, and motivate team members
What's On Offer for the Cargo Office Team Leader:
- Salary: £34,631.69 per annum
- Shift: 4 on 4 off (2 days, 2 nights)
- Hours: 07:00 - 19:00 & 19:00 - 07:00
Additional Information: Holiday cover may be required. This position is ideal for someone currently working as a Cargo Agent who is ready to take the next step, or an existing Team Leader seeking a fresh challenge.
