Right Now Group are currently recruiting for a Class 2 Driver to join a well-established Waste Management company based in the Gatwick area. Our client is seeking a reliable and hardworking individual to support commercial waste collection operations, ensuring all collections are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company procedures.
Position: Class 2 Driver
Location: Gatwick
Hours: Monday to Friday 06:00-15:15, Alternative Saturdays
Salary: £42,000
Key Responsibilities for a Class 2 Driver:
- Operating a Class 2 (Category C) vehicle to carry out scheduled commercial waste collections.
- Collecting and emptying commercial waste and recycling bins from customer sites.
- Performing manual handling duties, including moving wheeled bins to and from collection points.
- Conducting daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects or maintenance requirements.
- Ensuring all collections are completed in line with health and safety regulations.
- Maintaining accurate collection records and completing any required paperwork.
- Providing excellent customer service whilst representing the company professionally.
- Working closely with loaders and operational teams to ensure efficient route completion.
- Adhering to all road transport legislation, driver hours regulations, and company policies.
Key Skills for a Class 2 Driver:
- Valid Class 2 (Category C) Driving License.
- Valid CPC Qualification Card and Digital Tachograph Card. (Beneficial - not essential)
- Previous experience within waste management, refuse collection, recycling, or a similar driving role.
- Comfortable undertaking manual handling and physically demanding work.
- Good understanding of health and safety procedures.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Good geographical knowledge and ability to follow planned collection routes.
