Air Import Clerk

Right Now Group are currently recruiting for an experienced Air Import Clerk to join an established freight forwarding business based in Colnbrook.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Air Import professional who is confident managing shipments from start to finish and has a good understanding of UK customs procedures.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating airfreight import shipments through to final delivery, ensuring customs, documentation and customer requirements are completed accurately and within agreed timescales.

Key Responsibilities of an Air Import Clerk

  • Manage airfreight import shipments from origin through to final delivery.
  • Monitor arrivals and liaise with airlines, handling agents, overseas agents and customers throughout the shipment process.
  • Arrange customs clearance and complete UK customs declarations using ASM Sequoia.
  • Check and process import documentation accurately and maintain shipment files using the Cargo Forwarder system.
  • Arrange collections and final deliveries with transport providers and keep customers updated throughout.
  • Check supplier invoices, raise customer invoices where required and resolve operational issues proactively.

The Successful Air Import Clerk

  • Previous experience working within Air Freight Imports is essential.
  • Experience completing UK customs declarations with a good understanding of import customs procedures.
  • Previous experience using ASM Sequoia would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of airfreight import documentation and start-to-finish shipment processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities.
  • Strong communication, customer service and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary: £32,000 - £35,000, depending on experience.
  • Location: Colnbrook.
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:30.
  • Flexible working hours can be discussed.
  • Office-based position.
