Right Now Group are recruiting for an experienced Aerospace Transport Planner on behalf of our client, an established transport and logistics business based near Heathrow. This is an interesting and varied position coordinating dedicated transport movements for the aerospace industry, including aircraft parts, oversized freight and wide loads. Key Responsibilities of an Aerospace Transport Planner: Plan and coordinate pre-planned dedicated transport movements across the UK and wider network. Arrange transportation of aircraft parts, oversized freight, wide loads and other specialist aerospace movements. Manage dedicated movements from initial planning through to successful collection and delivery. Work alongside a team of four experienced Transport Planners, coordinating workloads and operational requirements. Maintain regular driver liaison and communication, ensuring drivers have clear instructions and all information required for each movement. Monitor drivers and ongoing jobs, responding quickly to delays, changes or operational issues. Liaise with customers, drivers and internal teams to ensure time-critical requirements are achieved. Proactively identify potential issues and resolve them before they impact the customer or delivery schedule. Respond to changes in schedules, customer requirements and operational priorities. Maintain accurate records and ensure relevant operational information is communicated effectively across the team. Support continuous improvements across transport planning, communication and operational processes. Once fully trained, provide occasional evening and weekend telephone support as part of the wider team's out-of-hours coverage.The Successful Aerospace Transport Planner: Previous experience within Transport Planning, Logistics, Aerospace Logistics, Specialist Transport or a similar operational environment would be highly advantageous. Experience planning dedicated transport movements would be particularly beneficial. Exposure to oversized, abnormal or wide-load movements would be advantageous but is not essential. A genuine interest in transport and logistics is essential. Strong communication skills and confident liaising directly with drivers throughout their journeys. Proactive and comfortable taking ownership of operational issues.
