Sea Freight Import Operator Right Now Group are recruiting for an experienced Sea Freight Import Operator on behalf of a well-established freight forwarding business based in Feltham .
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing import operations team, taking responsibility for the end-to-end coordination of sea freight import shipments from origin through to final delivery.
The successful candidate will manage multiple import consignments, liaising with overseas agents, shipping lines, customers, hauliers, and customs authorities to ensure shipments are handled efficiently, compliantly, and with the highest levels of customer service.
This role would suit someone with previous sea freight import experience who thrives in a fast-paced freight forwarding environment.
Key Responsibilities of a Sea Freight Import Operator Manage the end-to-end sea freight import process from booking through to final delivery.
Liaise with overseas agents, shipping lines, ports, hauliers, and customers to ensure the smooth movement of freight.
Arrange customs clearance and ensure all import documentation is completed accurately and compliantly.
Monitor shipment progress and provide customers with regular updates.
Coordinate deliveries with transport providers and warehouses.
Check supplier invoices and raise customer invoices accurately.
Resolve any shipment delays or operational issues promptly and professionally.
Ensure all files are completed accurately within the freight forwarding system.
Maintain excellent customer service while building strong client relationships.
Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations, customs procedures, and company operating standards.
Skills Experience Required for a Sea Freight Import Operator Previous experience working within Sea Freight Imports for a freight forwarding company.
Good understanding of import customs procedures and documentation.
Experience coordinating FCL and LCL import shipments.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a busy operations team.
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications and freight forwarding systems.
A proactive and solutions-focused approach with excellent attention to detail.
