You'll play a key role in coordinating international shipments, liaising with customers, airlines, overseas agents and transport providers to ensure freight moves efficiently whilst maintaining excellent customer service and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities of a Logistics Coordinator
- Manage
- Air Import and Air Export shipments from start to finish
- Coordinate shipments from initial booking through to final delivery or departure.
- Arrange airline bookings, collections, deliveries and transport requirements.
- Prepare and process shipping documentation, including
- MAWBs, HAWBs, commercial invoices and customs paperwork
- Complete and process import and export customs entries accurately where required.
- Liaise with customers, airlines, overseas agents, hauliers, handling agents and internal teams.
- Monitor shipment progress and provide proactive updates to customers.
- Resolve operational issues, delays and customer queries efficiently.
- Ensure all shipments comply with relevant customs, airline and company procedures.
- Maintain accurate operational records, complete job files and ensure shipments are invoiced correctly.
Skills & Experience Required for a Logistics Coordinator
- Previous experience within
Air Freight Forwarding is essential.
- Strong experience managing both Air Imports and Air Exports from start to finish
- Good understanding of international air freight operations and documentation.
- Experience with import and export customs procedures
- Confident liaising with customers, airlines, overseas agents and transport providers.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- High attention to detail with a proactive approach to problem solving.
- IT literate with experience using Microsoft Office and freight forwarding systems.
- Experience handling time-critical, temperature-controlled or specialist cargo would be advantageous but is not essential.
