This Cargo Agent role is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a busy office environment and wants to be part of the fast-moving air cargo industry.
As a Cargo Agent, you'll work closely with airline partners, warehouse teams and customers to make sure shipments are processed accurately and cargo keeps moving on time.
Key Responsibilities of a Cargo Agent Creating and updating shipment records using airline computer systems.
Processing cargo documentation in line with airline requirements.
Assisting customers collecting cargo, including taking payments where required.
Answering telephone and email enquiries in a professional and friendly manner.
Liaising with warehouse staff and drivers to ensure cargo is processed efficiently.
Carrying out Dangerous Goods and AVI (Live Animal) checks in line with IATA regulations.
Completing paperwork accurately and keeping records up to date.
Skills & Experience Required as Cargo Agent Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Confidence using computers and learning new systems.
Previous office or administration experience is beneficial, but not essential as full training will be provided.
A good level of spoken and written English.
A reliable attitude with the ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team.
Pre-Employment Checks As this Cargo Agent role is based within the Heathrow cargo area, you'll need to be able to complete: A 5-year checkable employment and/or education history.
A DBS (Criminal Record) check.
