Right Now Group are currently recruiting for a Linen Porter to work at West Suffolk Hospital. This vacancy will be temporary for approximately 5 weeks. The purpose of this role is to prepare, deliver and collect the linen and laundry in line with the contractual services on a day-to-day basis.

  • Assisting in providing an effective and efficient customer liaison service so that all customers receive a quality service.
  • Co-ordinate deliveries and collections from wards.
  • Transfer linen from laundry cages, trolleys to shelves - This will require moving heavy weights manually and using trolleys/cages on a regular basis up to 50kg.
  • Record information on linen stocks.
  • To participate in staff development and training initiatives.
  • To safely operate and monitor machines and equipment.
  • To act responsibly when manoeuvring cages with linen.
  • To undertake any other duties or tasks as reasonably required.
  • Ensure that company policies and procedures are maintained, particularly compliance with the required Health and Safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Ensuring that effective communications are maintained and that prompt action is taken for service requests or complaints.
  • To comply with the Health and Safety At Work.
  • To report as soon as practical accidents, hazards, and untoward incidents and to ensure that accident forms are completed.
  • To respect patient confidentiality at all times and not divulge patient information.

Shift: Monday to Friday, Hours: 07:00 to 12:00, Pay: £12.71 per hour.

  • Have a clear DBS dated in the last 6 months.
  • Be able to move heavy cages up to 50kg.
  • Have knowledge of health & safety.
  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Some experience as a Linen Porter would be an advantage.
