Job Description

Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer with a strong background in electrical maintenance, fault-finding and working with industrial machinery?

An excellent opportunity is available for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join an established manufacturing business in Henfield.

The role focuses on keeping plant, machinery and electrical systems running safely and efficiently. You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance, diagnose electrical faults and support improvements that reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability.

The role would ideally suit an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer looking for a 3:00pm-11:00pm shift, although an alternative 12-hour shift pattern is also available.

Salary: Β£45,000 - Β£53,000 + Overtime

Location: Henfield

Shift Options:

  • Preferred: Monday - Friday, 3:00pm-11:00pm
  • Alternative: 3 days 06:00-18:00 / 3 days off / 3 nights 18:00-06:00 / 3 days off

Electrical Engineer Key Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on electrical systems, plant and machinery.
  • Responding to breakdowns and carrying out electrical fault-finding and repairs.
  • Diagnosing faults across electrical, control and automation systems.
  • Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Servicing and maintaining manufacturing equipment to minimise downtime.
  • Supporting machinery installations, modifications and site improvement projects.
  • Identifying recurring faults and implementing preventative solutions.
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records and job logs.
  • Working closely with Production and Maintenance teams to keep equipment safe and operational.
  • Supporting external contractors and statutory inspection requirements where required.

Electrical Engineer - Highly Desirable:

  • Previous experience as an Electrical Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing, industrial or factory environment.
  • Relevant electrical qualification/apprenticeship such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent.
  • 18th Edition (BS 7671) qualification, or willingness to work towards it.
  • Strong electrical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with PPM and reactive maintenance.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics.
  • PLC, drives, sensors or automation experience would be advantageous.
  • Experience using a CMMS or maintenance management system would be desirable.
  • Strong Health & Safety awareness, including safe isolation and LOTO procedures.
  • A practical, hands-on approach with good attention to detail.
