Right Now Group are recruiting for a Cargo Agent to join our client, a large cargo ground handler at Heathrow! You will be joining a fast paced office environment alongside the clients airline partners, ensuring their cargo is delivered safely and securely around the world!
Responsibilities of a Cargo Agent:
- Create and update records of all consignments in the airline computer systems.
- Separate and distribute cargo documents according to airline requirements.
- Serve customers collecting cargo including taking payments of charges.
- Operate a telephone system in a polite and efficient manner.
- Liaise with warehouse staff and drivers as appropriate.
- Be responsible for checking dangerous goods to IATA and AVI checks.
Skills required to be a Cargo Agent:
- Great communication skills via email, telephone and in person.
- Basic computer skills are essential as you will be operating and using a variety of systems.
- Previous office experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
- Fluent in speaking and writing in English is essential.
We will need to be able to complete pre-employment checks. This will include a 5 year checkable employment/education history, DBS check (criminal record check).
