Right Now Group are currently recruiting for an experienced Aerospace Air Export Operator on behalf of a leading global logistics and freight forwarding organisation based in Feltham, close to Heathrow.
This is an excellent opportunity to join an established international business specialising in Aerospace, Air Freight, Project Logistics and time-critical logistics solutions.
We are looking for an experienced Air Export professional who has a strong understanding of aerospace freight and time-critical shipments, with confidence managing exports from start to finish. Experience handling aircraft parts, AOG shipments, export customs, airline bookings and specialist documentation would be highly advantageous.
Working within a busy Aerospace Export operation, you will take ownership of shipments from initial booking through to final delivery and billing, liaising closely with customers, airlines, hauliers, overseas offices and suppliers to ensure critical freight moves safely, compliantly and within strict deadlines.
Key Responsibilities of an Aerospace Air Export Operator:
- Manage Aerospace Air Export shipments from start to finish, including bookings, collections, customs clearance, documentation, tracking and final billing.
- Coordinate time-critical and AOG shipments, ensuring aircraft parts and specialist freight are moved within strict operational deadlines.
- Complete and process UK export customs entries accurately and in accordance with HMRC requirements.
- Prepare and manage Air Export documentation, including MAWBs, HAWBs, commercial invoices, packing lists, export declarations and pre-alerts.
- Coordinate bookings with airlines and arrange collections and deliveries with approved hauliers.
- Liaise with customers, airlines, overseas offices, agents, hauliers and handling agents throughout the shipment process.
- Monitor shipments closely and proactively manage any delays, discrepancies or operational issues.
- Ensure aerospace freight is handled in accordance with relevant security, compliance and customer requirements.
- Maintain accurate job files and ensure all shipment information is correctly recorded within the freight management system.
- Complete job costing and billing, ensuring all costs and revenues are accurately captured.
- Provide a high level of customer service while managing multiple shipments within a fast-paced and time-critical environment.
The Successful Aerospace Air Export Operator:
- Minimum 2 years' Air Export experience within a freight forwarding environment.
- Previous experience handling Aerospace, AOG, aircraft parts or other time-critical freight would be highly advantageous.
- Proven experience managing Air Export shipments from start to finish.
- Strong understanding of Air Export procedures, airline bookings and export documentation.
- Experience completing UK export customs entries is essential.
- Good knowledge of HMRC customs requirements and export compliance.
- Excellent attention to detail, particularly when handling high-value and time-critical shipments.
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with confidence liaising with customers, airlines and overseas offices.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple shipments and strict deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure within a busy Aerospace operation.
Salary & Benefits:
- Salary: £28,000 - £34,000 per annum, depending on experience.
- Location: Feltham / Heathrow area.
- Hours: Monday - Friday, 09:00 - 18:00.
