Hayes, Heathrow .
This is a busy
24/7 airline transport operation , coordinating vehicles between the company's facility and airline handling sheds across
Heathrow Airport .
Working predominantly across the
Airline Transport Fleet (ATF) , you'll plan vehicles delivering export cargo into Heathrow and collecting import freight from airline and cargo handling facilities .
Key Responsibilities of a Transport Planner
- Plan daily airline transport movements across Heathrow Airport .
- Allocate vehicles and drivers for export deliveries and import collections.
- Manage and monitor the
Airline Transport Fleet (ATF) throughout the shift.
- Ensure vehicles reach airline sheds and cargo facilities within required timescales.
- Monitor live movements and respond to delays or urgent requirements.
- Prioritise export freight to achieve airline cut-off times.
- Coordinate import collections once cargo is available for release.
- Liaise with drivers, warehouse teams and freight operations.
- Maintain accurate transport records and system updates.
- Resolve day-to-day transport issues and provide clear shift handovers.
Skills & Experience Required for a Transport Planner
- Previous experience within
Transport Planning, Airline Transport, Freight Transport or Fleet Operations .
- Airfreight, freight forwarding or airport transport experience would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of
- Heathrow airline sheds and cargo handling facilities would be beneficial
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills.
- Previous
Airline Transport / ATF experience would be advantageous, although candidates from wider transport planning backgrounds will be considered.
