Customs Clerk
Right Now Group are recruiting for an experienced Customs Clerk on behalf of a well-established international freight forwarder based in Ashford, Surrey .
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with customs clearance experience who is looking to develop their career within freight forwarding. Initially focusing on road import customs clearances , the successful candidate will receive full training across air and sea freight operations , with a clear progression path into a Multimodal Import Operator role.
Key Responsibilities of a Customs Clerk
- Complete road import customs declarations accurately using the relevant customs systems.
- Ensure all customs entries comply with HMRC regulations and current customs legislation.
- Review commercial invoices, packing lists, CMRs and supporting documentation to ensure customs compliance.
- Liaise with customers, hauliers, customs authorities and internal teams to resolve customs-related queries.
- Monitor customs entries through to clearance, ensuring shipments are processed without delay.
- Maintain accurate customs records and ensure all documentation is completed correctly.
