Job Description

SMT Production Engineer Dartford, Kent£27,000 - £30,000 DOERight Match Recruitment Group is proud to be working in partnership with a well-established and highly respected electronics manufacturing company based in Dartford.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an SMT Production Engineer to join their successful manufacturing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous Surface Mount Technology (SMT) experience who enjoys improving manufacturing processes, increasing productivity and working with the latest electronic manufacturing equipment.

The Role Reporting to the Production Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the SMT production department, ensuring manufacturing processes operate efficiently whilst maintaining high quality standards.

Your responsibilities will include: Supporting the day-to-day operation of the SMT production lines.

Monitoring machine performance and identifying opportunities to improve productivity and efficiency.

Analysing production data and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.

Assisting with the introduction of new products into manufacture, ensuring they are suitable for production.

Working closely with Production and Design teams to improve manufacturing processes.

Programming SMT machinery and producing clear operating procedures and work instructions.

Monitoring process performance and quality data to identify trends and implement corrective actions.

Supporting preventative maintenance activities to minimise machine downtime.

Assisting with pre-production builds and new product introductions.

Supporting lean manufacturing initiatives across the production department.

Delivering training and technical support to production staff where required.

Assisting with the evaluation of new equipment and manufacturing technologies.

About You The successful candidate will have: Previous experience within an SMT or electronics manufacturing environment.

Knowledge of electronic manufacturing processes.

Experience of machine programming and process improvement.

A proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and organisational abilities.

A HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical or Electronic Engineering would be advantageous.

Experience with Europlacer equipment would be beneficial, although training will be provided.

What's on Offer?Salary of £27,000 - £30,000 , depending on experience.
