We are looking for an experienced HGV Mechanic to join our team based at our Welwyn Garden City yard. Working within a large, well-equipped workshop, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of a fleet of 15 HGVs, ensuring all vehicles are kept in safe, roadworthy condition and operating at peak efficiency. This is a Monday to Friday role, working 07:00-17:30 (9.5-hour day), with the occasional Saturday required in the event of a breakdown or urgent repair.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned maintenance inspections (PMIs) across the full fleet
- Diagnose and carry out repairs on HGVs and associated equipment
- Service and maintain a varied fleet including drum mixers, volumetric mixers, 8-wheeler tippers, and 2 concrete pumps
- Work predominantly on DAF and Renault vehicles
- Maintain accurate service and maintenance records
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as an HGV Mechanic
- Sound knowledge of heavy vehicles, ideally DAF and/or Renault
- Experience with specialist vehicles such as mixers, tippers, or concrete pumps is advantageous
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- A professional and reliable approach to your work
