We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to support a major high‑value industrial programme in Yorkshire. This programme forms part of a wider long‑term investment in critical UK infrastructure and advanced manufacturing. It includes significant civils activity, complex integration of specialist systems, and a continually evolving scope, all delivered within an NEC‑driven environment. This is a technically demanding setting where strong commercial leadership, accurate cost control, and the ability to manage ongoing change are vital.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Managing the commercial performance of key work packages from procurement through to final account
- Administering NEC contracts, including early warnings, compensation events, and change control
- Preparing and reviewing CVRs, forecasts, and cost reports to support informed project decision‑making
- Leading subcontract procurement — tendering, negotiation, and appointment
- Managing subcontractor accounts, applications, and payment processes
- Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle
- Working closely with operational teams to align commercial strategy with programme objectives
- Supporting and mentoring junior commercial staff
What You Will Bring
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on civils, infrastructure, or industrial projects
- Strong working knowledge of NEC3 (ideally Option A)
- Demonstrated experience managing change on complex or evolving projects
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, including CVRs, forecasting, and cost control
- Experience managing subcontract procurement and accounts
- Confident communication and stakeholder‑management skills
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
- RICS membership (or working towards) is beneficial
