We’re supporting one of our key construction partners in their search for a Sustainability Manager to join their team, working across projects in both London and the Midlands. The role is focused on driving environmental performance on site, ensuring projects meet internal standards and external compliance targets, with particular focus on Net Zero pathways, BREEAM, FSC, waste, energy and carbon reporting. You’ll be the link between site teams, the wider sustainability department and external stakeholders, helping embed best practice across multiple projects and supporting ongoing improvements to the company’s sustainability strategy.
What you’ll be doing
- Site Environmental Oversight: Support site setup from an environmental standpoint. Carry out regular site inspections and audits, advising teams where improvements are needed. Ensure sites are aligning with requirements such as CCS, BREEAM, Environmental Management Plans, SWMPs, and local social value targets.
- Training & Support: Deliver toolbox talks, inductions and on-site sessions covering spill response, waste documentation, FSC requirements, NRMM and other environmental procedures.
- Data & Reporting: Gather and upload data relating to materials, waste, energy use and embodied carbon across multiple projects. Prepare reports for internal systems and client portals, ensuring accurate tracking against sustainability goals and compliance metrics.
- Sustainability Documentation: Contribute to the development and delivery of project-specific sustainability plans: SWMPs, Environmental Plans, Procurement Plans, Pre-Demolition plans and resource/efficiency strategies.
- Energy & Carbon Performance: Monitor project energy consumption and highlight opportunities for reductions. Support embodied carbon assessments and provide recommendations for lowering carbon impact.
- Stakeholder Communication: Provide regular updates to the Sustainability Carbon & Systems Manager and project leadership teams. Assist with wider sustainability campaigns, audits and certifications as required.
What you’ll need
- Experience in an environmental or sustainability role within construction or a similar industry.
- Strong knowledge of environmental compliance and sustainability frameworks.
- Confidence working independently across multiple sites.
- Full UK driving licence.
