We are currently recruiting a compassionate and dedicated Female Punjabi-speaking Live-in Care Assistant to support a client in Gillingham.
About the Role
We are seeking a caring and reliable individual who can provide high-quality, person-centred care while communicating effectively in Punjabi to meet the client's cultural and language needs. As a Live-in Care Assistant, you will live in the client’s home for agreed periods and provide companionship, practical support, and personal care to help them remain safe, comfortable, and independent.
Essential Requirements
- Previous care experience (essential)
- Previous live-in care experience (preferred but not essential)
- The ability to speak Punjabi fluently
- Full legal right to work in the UK (we are unable to provide sponsorship or issue Certificates of Sponsorship)
- Updated DBS
- A caring, mature, and professional approach
- The ability to live in a client’s home for agreed periods
- Good cooking skills and the ability to prepare a variety of meals
- An enhanced DBS certificate
- Ideally live in the Medway area or surrounding locations and be able to attend our Gillingham office for interview and induction training
- A driving licence is preferred but not essential
Typical Duties
- Assisting with morning and bedtime routines
- Personal care and support with daily living activities
- Medication administration and assistance
- Supporting clients living with dementia
- Meal planning and preparation
- Companionship and social engagement, including hobbies, shopping trips, and outings
- Light housekeeping and household tasks
- Promoting independence and wellbeing
- Providing reassurance and emotional support
Working Pattern
Live-in placements are tailored to individual client needs. Many of our Live-in Care Assistants choose flexible working arrangements such as:
- One week on / one week off
- Two weeks on / one week off
- Three weeks on / one week off
We will work with you to find a pattern that suits both you and our clients.
Location
This role is based with a client in Gillingham. Should your placement come to an end, we will endeavour to redeploy you to another suitable live-in care package within our Right at Home network, helping you maintain regular work and income.
