Night Security Officer

We are looking for a professional, vigilant and customer-focused Night Security Officer to join our team.

As Night Security Officer, you will play a key role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our guests, colleagues and property throughout the night.

The Security Officer is responsible for monitoring the hotel, responding to incidents, carrying out regular security checks and ensuring our overnight operations run smoothly.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining a visible security presence throughout the hotel during night-time operations.
  • Conducting regular patrols of guest areas, public spaces, back-of-house areas, entrances, exits and external areas.
  • Monitoring CCTV, alarms, access control systems and other security equipment.
  • Responding promptly and professionally to security incidents, emergencies and guest or colleague concerns.
  • Managing access to the hotel and challenging unauthorised persons where appropriate.
  • Recording and reporting all incidents, accidents, suspicious activity and security concerns accurately.
  • Supporting the Night Manager and wider hotel team with emergency situations and operational requirements.
  • Carrying out regular checks of fire exits, emergency equipment, plant rooms and other key areas.
  • Assisting with fire alarm activations, evacuations and other emergency procedures in accordance with hotel policies.
  • Liaising with emergency services, contractors and other external parties when required.
  • Supporting the protection of hotel guests, colleagues, assets and property.
  • Ensuring all security equipment and systems are functioning correctly and reporting any faults promptly.
  • Maintaining accurate security logs, handover information and relevant compliance documentation.
  • Providing clear and detailed handovers to the incoming team, highlighting incidents, outstanding issues and areas requiring attention.
  • Maintaining a professional appearance and representing One Hundred Shoreditch positively at all times.
  • Working closely with the overnight hotel team to ensure a safe, welcoming and seamless guest experience.
  • What We’re Looking For
  • Previous experience in a hotel, hospitality, security or similar environment is desirable.
  • A valid SIA licence is essential.
  • A calm, professional and confident approach when dealing with incidents or challenging situations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good written skills and the ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and resolving potential security issues.
  • The ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with the wider hotel team.
  • A strong commitment to guest service, confidentiality, health and safety.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends and bank holidays as required

  • £36,305 p/a + service charge + benefits
