How to prepare for a job interview at Rig Locums Ltd

Know Your Stuff

Make sure you brush up on your A&E knowledge and any recent developments in the field. Familiarise yourself with common procedures, protocols, and the specific challenges faced by the department you're applying to. This will show that you're not just a qualified doctor, but someone who is genuinely interested in contributing to their team.

Flexibility is Key

Since the role requires covering a full rota, be prepared to discuss your availability openly. Highlight your willingness to work on-call and your flexibility with shifts. This will demonstrate that you understand the demands of the job and are ready to step up when needed.

Communicate Clearly

During the interview, make sure to communicate your thoughts clearly and concisely. If you're asked about your experience or how you'd handle certain situations, provide structured answers. Use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to frame your responses, which will help you articulate your experiences effectively.

Ask Insightful Questions

Prepare some thoughtful questions to ask at the end of your interview. This could be about the team dynamics, the department's goals, or how they support their locum doctors. Asking questions shows that you're engaged and serious about the position, plus it gives you valuable insights into whether this role is the right fit for you.
