CPL UK Healthcare (formally RIG Locums) are currently looking for a Old Age Specialty doctor, NHS based in Cardiff, South Wales area. The role offers highly negotiable rates for a dedicated psychiatrist. The trust seeks an enthusiastic Specialty doctor in Old Age Psychiatry to work full-time and it would be excellent for someone wanting to broaden their experience of community psychiatry and develop their clinical skills in a supportive and challenging environment. The team is well established with good support from senior clinical and managerial colleagues.

Clinical Duties of Post Holder:

  • The post holder will manage the care of older adults with mental health patients in Clinic, community patients in the locality under the sector Consultant and during respite in care homes.
  • The post holder will manage the care of patients under the supervision of the appropriate sector Consultants.
  • The post holder will be expected to be involved in the management of complex patients appropriate to their competency.
  • The post holder will need to provide appropriate clinical leadership of the team with the support of the Consultant and other colleagues available to provide support.
  • The post holder will be involved as appropriate with patient referral and admissions.
  • The post holder will be involved in Care plan and treatment formulation, guidance on evidence-based treatment and effectiveness.
  • The post holder will be involved closely with liaison and collaborative working with other services within and without the Directorate. This will involve multi-disciplinary, multi-agency and partnership working.

Requirements:

  • Full GMC License to practice
  • Right to Work in the UK
  • Relevant previous experience working in this type of position
