CPL UK Healthcare (formally RIG Locums) are currently looking for a General Adult Specialty doctor, NHS based in South London area. The role offers highly negotiable rates for a dedicated psychiatrist. The trust seeks an enthusiastic Specialty doctor in General Adult Psychiatry to work full‑time and it would be excellent for someone wanting to broaden their experience of inpatient and develop their clinical skills in a supportive and challenging environment. The team is well established with good support from senior clinical and managerial colleagues. The Trust is seeking an energetic and motivated specialty doctor to work on male‑only acute inpatient ward to support the consultant psychiatrist in providing high quality clinical care to our patients.
List of Key Responsibilities:
- Attending the 9am daily handover meeting and running MDT meetings in the absence of the consultant.
- Supporting the junior doctors and the consultant psychiatrist by providing senior medical input into assessment and management of patients, preparation of Tribunal reports and giving evidence at hearings, and writing discharge summaries as required.
- Ongoing monitoring of the mental health of inpatients.
- Coordinating Mental Health Act Assessments of inpatients, as necessary.
- Liaising with CMHTs and other agencies and working with the Ward discharge coordinator to ensure timely discharges.
- Where necessary participating in the daytime Duty Doctor cover across the wards in the unforeseen absence of junior doctors.
Key Responsibilities During Consultant Leave:
- Providing senior medical input and support to the junior doctors on Ward during periods of consultant leave as above.
- Responsible clinician cover will be provided by a Consultant as appropriate when the Consultant is on leave.
This is an indicative rather than an exhaustive list of duties, and the post holder will at times be expected to perform other similar or related tasks. Moreover, there are a number of other tasks the post holder may choose to undertake for interest or training purposes, by agreement with the team consultant – for instance: leading or co‑leading patient groups; teaching; undertaking audit or research projects etc.
