CPL are currently recruiting for a Consultant Acute Medicine to take up a month long locum placement with an Emergency Dept based on an NHS site in Surrey. The doctor will be booked to work a minimum of 40 hours per week. Doctor must hold GMC Spec Reg.
Shift pattern: Rolling rota, Monday to Friday (no nights or weekends). A variety of shifts between 8:00am and 8:00pm, including 8:00am – 4:00pm, 11:00am – 8:00pm, and 8:00am – 6:00pm. The rota is built in three-month blocks. Working hours are subject to change and may be flexible, following earlier discussions with the consultant team.
The team are looking for an experienced Acute Medicine Consultant with previous experience of ED to join the Emergency Floor Consultant Team. The doctor will contribute to the morning post-take ward round of new medical admissions, working alongside 2 other Acute Physicians. The team work closely with Geriatrician colleagues who run a separate frailty based take.
Other duties include a rolling post-take ward round of new admissions and supervision of a busy SDEC (Same Day Emergency Care) area. One of the Consultants also takes GP referrals each day. On some days they will also be the lead consultant for the Ward, leading both a morning and an afternoon board-round and being available to review medical in-patients as required.
This role is NHS based and will be paid hourly via PAYE rates, capped to approx £100.00 per hour.
