Overview
CPL UK Healthcare (formerly RIG Locums) is looking for a General Adult Consultant psychiatrist to work full-time in the NHS, based in Dartford, Kent. The role offers highly negotiable rates and aims to broaden experience of community psychiatry.
Responsibilities
- 10 PA per working week post within the Dartford CMHT, covering the local area and providing senior medical input to the Community Mental Health Service.
- Provide cover for initial assessments, regular follow‑ups (Care Reviews) and CPA reviews.
- Carry out home visits locally.
- Take an active leadership role in screening and assessment of new referrals within the CAPA choice model assessment process.
- Give medical advice and supervision to the Community Mental Health Team for patients with severe and enduring mental illness managed at an enhanced level of CPA.
- Build constructive relationships with the team manager and senior professionals.
- Work with a 24‑hour, seven days a week Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team (separate Consultant cover).
- Handle up to 20 standard care patients requiring medical input prior to transfer to primary care.
- Have no inpatient consultant responsibility; patients are managed by Acute inpatient consultants during hospital stays.
- Work according to the principles highlighted in the New Ways of Working.
Qualifications
- Full GMC Licence to practise.
- Right to work in the United Kingdom.
- Relevant previous experience working in a similar position.
