CPL UK Healthcare (formally RIG Locums) are currently looking for a Forensic Consultant or Specialty doctor with S12, NHS based in Portland and Salisbury, Dorset. The role offers highly negotiable rates for a dedicated psychiatrist. The trust seeks an enthusiastic Consultant in Forensic Psychiatry to work part-time hours per week covering in-reach clinics at the 3 Prisons, one day per week, 9am-5pm Weekdays, and they are flexible regarding the day of the week for each Prison.
Your core responsibilities would be to help assess, diagnose, and oversee the mental health of patients in your care.
Key Responsibilities:- Assessing prisoners in the house-blocks and in Healthcare
- Liaising with services outside the prison to arrange CPAs, aftercare plans or transfers to hospital
- Attending the inpatient unit to manage psychiatric cases
- Any other care which could reasonably be expected of a consultant acting in an in-reach capacity in a prison
- Quality improvement initiatives, to be agreed with multidisciplinary colleagues and the service managers
