CPL UK Healthcare (formally RIG Locums) are currently looking for an enthusiastic CAMHS Consultant in the community service, based in South Bedfordshire area.

The role offers highly negotiable rates for a dedicated psychiatrist. The trust seeks an enthusiastic Consultant in CAMHS Psychiatry to work full-time and it would be excellent for someone wanting to broaden their experience of community psychiatry and develop their clinical skills in a supportive and challenging environment. The team is well established with good support from senior clinical and managerial colleagues.

8 PA (6 DCC, 2 SPA), they are open to discussion about less than full time working and also on a fixed term contract. Vacancy is result of retirement of consultant.

Providing clinical and leadership input to the Neuro Developmental team, the post holder will be expected to provide other clinical duties (detailed below) within the wider service together with other Consultant and junior doctor colleagues.

The Neurodevelopmental Team is a growing team providing the assessment and treatment for the needs of young people presenting with mental health conditions related to learning disabilities and ASD. The team also offer groups to parents and carers regarding Positive Behavior Support. The team also hosts a consultation clinic with local specialist school provision and children with disability social care team.

The NDT receive approximately 70 referrals per year and have a current open case list of approximately 120-140 cases.

The team has close links with the autism assessment pathway and, contributes to the comprehensive multiagency parenting programme for parents and carers of children and young people with ASD. There are strong links with partner agencies including Special Educational Needs Schools, Children with Disabilities social work team, The Edwin Lobo Child Development Centre, and Autism Bedfordshire.

The team is also supported by the transforming care arm of the Home Treatment Team. This team supports young people with a diagnosis of Learning disability and/or ASD who are at risk of admission to an in patient unit.
