We have a fantastic opportunity for a Commercial Property Solicitor (4+ years PQE) to join our growing business, based in Barnsley, Huddersfield or South Elmsall.
Your Role
The prime role of a Commercial Property Solicitor is to undertake fee-earning work, to encourage and promote the image and ethos of the firm and to adhere to agreed practices and procedures as determined.
Your responsibilities will include:
- To deal with Client work as allocated by the Team Leader in charge of the Commercial Property Team in accordance with the detailed procedures and quality standards contained in the firm's Office Manual with minimal supervision.
- To ensure all Client work is progressed expeditiously and that the Client is kept regularly informed on progress and on costs.
- To exercise high standards of Client care at all times in a professional and pleasant manner.
- To ensure the confidentiality and security of all the firm's and Client documentation and information.
- To achieve agreed targets both personal and team in respect of fee income and recording of chargeable time.
- To comply with Solicitors Accounts Rules and the rules on Professional Conduct of Solicitors.
- To maintain clear and precise communications with other personnel of the firm.
- To ensure good working relationships with external institutions and organisations.
- As requested, to support, develop and supervise immediate support staff.
- To take responsibility for and attend to training and self-development.
- In conjunction with the firm to comply with the relevant training requirements of the Law Society and to assist with in-house training as may be required.
- In liaison with the Team Leader in charge of the Commercial Property Team and the Partners to be active in promoting the services of the firm and its image.
- Day-to-day handling of a wide variety of cases.
- Experience of running own case load and being able to pick up cases partway through.
- Conduct of matters on behalf of clients.
- Work as part of the team.
- To assist where required in marketing the firm's client services.
- To develop own caseload with assistance from the Team Leader.
Person specification – key skills/qualifications required:
- Admission to Solicitors' Roll (4+ years PQE).
- Experience in Commercial Property law (4+ years PQE).
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
