Working arrangements: This is an onsite role based in our easily accessible premises on Meridian Business Park, Leicester, LE19 1WH. There is free car parking onsite.
Overview: We are looking for a Quality Inspector to join our team to control and manage supplier quality. This is a new position to support the quality department as Ridgway grows. This is a key position reporting to the Quality Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Reviewing products and materials supplied to ensure they meet company requirements
- Measuring parts/components compared to their intended specifications
- Reporting on quality issues to suppliers
- Collaborating with the supply chain team to develop corrective actions for identified issues
- Ensuring KPIs are met for cost of quality
- Carrying out internal audits in line with ISO9001
- Supporting with the continuous improvement and 5S activities
- Working closely with other teams like supply chain, engineering and procurement
- Inspecting on component finishes like Phosphate, BZP and Paint
- Inspecting FAIR reports from suppliers
- Inspecting fabrications during manufacturing process at suppliers
Requirements:
- Proven background and experience within an inspection team
- Understanding of continuous improvement tools and 5S
- Understanding route cause analysis tools and ability to implement corrective and preventative actions
- Working with measuring equipment like vernier, micrometres, high gauge, gauges etc
- Ideally has also worked in a Small, Medium Enterprise (SME) and is able to demonstrate the ability to ‘roll their sleeves up’ and personally get things done as part of a small team
