Senior Engineer

Ridgeway & Co are actively recruiting a lead Engineer on behalf of a prominent main contractor for a job in St Albans. Role Overview: maintain high standards, ensuring the project is completed on time and within budget. Key Responsibilities: * Setting Out: Manage setting out at various build stages, including foundations, earthworks, façade, and internal layouts. * Quality Assurance: Inspect and verify subcontractors\’ work, maintaining a daily log of progress for each subcontractor. * Project Management: Oversee all construction phases from substructure to superstructure, including landscaping. * Communication: Attend weekly management meetings and coordinate with Site Clerks, Quantity Surveyors, and Health Safety Officers. * Instrument Proficiency: Utilize EDM, rotating laser levels, and other instruments for as-built surveys, QA, and snagging. * Tech Savvy: Proficient with construction management software, particularly Procore, and adept with tablets/android devices for on-site QA recording. * IT Skills: Competent with Microsoft Office, emails, and other software programs. * Design Knowledge: Strong understanding of design, drawings, details, and specifications. * Construction Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of substructure, drainage, and utilities. * Progress Monitoring: Prepare for daily and weekly progress meetings, providing updates on work status and identifying any delays. * Career Development: Opportunity to gain experience in facades, roofing, and other areas for career advancement.
