Health & Safety Manager – Groundworks & RC Frame London & UK Projects £70,000 – £80,000 + Package & Benefits Permanent £450 a day CIS About the Company Our client is an established and highly regarded Groundworks & Reinforced Concrete Frame contractor, delivering major projects across London, the South East, Midlands and Scotland. The business works with leading main contractors and developers across the residential, commercial and mixed-use sectors, delivering complex packages encompassing groundworks, reinforced concrete frames, drainage, foundations, basements, substructures and associated civils works. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of projects, they are looking to appoint an experienced Health & Safety Manager to support their operational teams and maintain the highest standards of health, safety and compliance across the business. The Role The Health & Safety Manager will work closely with the company's senior management, project teams and site management to drive a positive and proactive safety culture across multiple live projects. This is a hands-on role suited to somebody with strong experience within groundworks, RC frame, civils or concrete construction, who is comfortable working across multiple sites and engaging directly with site teams, subcontractors and clients. Key responsibilities will include: * Carrying out regular site inspections, audits and compliance reviews across live Groundworks & RC Frame projects. * Reviewing and monitoring RAMS, COSHH assessments, lifting plans, permits and site-specific H&S documentation. * Advising Project Managers, Site Managers and operational teams on health, safety and environmental matters. * Monitoring high-risk activities including excavations, temporary works, lifting operations, concrete works, plant movements and working at height. * Investigating accidents, incidents and near misses and implementing appropriate corrective and preventative actions. * Delivering toolbox talks, safety briefings and management guidance where required. * Supporting project teams with client audits, inspections and H&S meetings. * Ensuring compliance with CDM Regulations, company procedures and current UK health & safety legislation. * Producing reports for senior management and identifying trends, risks and areas for improvement. * Promoting a strong behavioural safety culture throughout the business. The Candidate The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience working for a Groundworks, RC Frame, Civils or specialist subcontractor and understand the risks associated with large-scale concrete and groundworks packages. You should have: * Proven experience as a Health & Safety Manager / Advisor within construction. * Strong Groundworks, RC Frame or Civils experience. * NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent. * TechIOSH / GradIOSH / CertIOSH or progression towards professional membership advantageous. * Strong knowledge of CDM 2015 and UK H&S legislation. * Experience conducting site audits, inspections and incident investigations. * Good working knowledge of RAMS and construction-specific safe systems of work. * Excellent communication skills with the confidence to challenge unsafe practices at all levels. * Full UK driving licence. * Flexibility to travel to projects across London and the UK when required. Salary & Package £70,000 – £80,000 basic salary, dependent on experience, plus a competitive company package and benefits.
