A local manufacturing company that specialises in manufacturing uPVC and Aluminium windows and doors is now looking for a Production Engineer who specialises in New Product Introduction (NPI).
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Process Engineer with strong experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) and Bill of Materials (BOM) control to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in developing and optimizing manufacturing processes, ensuring seamless product launches, and maintaining accurate BOMs to support production efficiency and quality.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and support New Product Introduction projects by collaborating with technical, manufacturing, and quality teams to develop efficient and scalable production processes.
- Develop, document, and implement process workflows, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for new and existing products.
- Manage and maintain accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) data in the ERP system, ensuring alignment with engineering specifications and production requirements.
- Analyse production processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and cost-saving opportunities; implement improvements accordingly.
- Coordinate cross-functional communication between Technical, procurement, manufacturing, and quality teams during product development and launch phases.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions related to process or BOM discrepancies.
- Support pilot runs and process validation activities to ensure products meet quality and performance standards.
- Monitor process metrics and provide regular reports on NPI progress and BOM status to stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards throughout the manufacturing process.
The ideal candidate must come from the Engineering Industry as a Production Engineer. You will also have the following skills, qualifications or experience:
- Bachelors degree in mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in process engineering with a focus on New Product Introduction.
- Strong knowledge of Bill of Materials management and control within ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, lean manufacturing principles, and quality standards.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Proficiency in CAD software, process simulation tools, and MS Office Suite.
- Certification in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or related process improvement methodologies.
