Are you an experienced Site Quality Monitoring Surveyor looking to take that next step in your career? As the demand for our expertise continues to grow, we now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Site Quality Monitoring Surveyor to join our significantly experienced and talented Construction Team based out of our offices in Winchester.

As a Site Quality Monitoring Surveyor at Ridge, you will work within a team who are working with Residential Providers including Housing Associations, Private “Buy to Let” Clients and Local Authority New Homes departments, to assist in the delivery on new build and regeneration schemes. You will help to oversee the construction works and delivery of these new build and regeneration projects.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Ensuring works carried out by the approved contractors are of the highest standard and meet all requirements of the specification and current regulations.
  • Visit the Housing construction sites typically either weekly or at fortnightly intervals.
  • Provide a Report typically covering items below (Reports actioned using a Ridge App based template).
  • Review Drawings and feedback construction/design queries.
  • Report to Client/Employer commenting upon:
  • Progress.
  • Defects and observations queries.
  • General comments regarding workmanship, materials and storage, site organisation, safety and labour on site.
  • Monitor the performance of Developer and compliance of materials and workmanship and programme enforcing implementation of construction standards and finishes in accordance with those defined in the Contract specification/ERs and/or contract drawings or with manufacturers or industry standard good practice.
  • Review works on site and provide technical feedback/instructions to ensure that works are being carried out in accordance with statutory regulations, best practice and delivering best value for money.
  • Record weather stoppages.
  • Monitor inspections by Building Control and NHBC/Premier or equivalent Building Insurance Guarantee.
  • Visual QA Inspections and Handover Inspections as required in our agreed format.
  • Review contract specification, Employer's Requirements, contract and working drawings to enable understanding of project and enable checks for compliance.
  • Assist Employer's Agent / Project Management team with site progress meetings, providing feedback and tracking closure of defects and observations throughout project.
  • Assist Team members as required with process of snagging, de-snagging and potentially the handover of properties to client.
  • Assist team with process of End of Defects in section and assist with interim defects rectification queries during Defects period.
  • Where BREEAM residential (HQM) – assist with elemental checks.
  • To be successful in this role you will have:

    • Significant experience in the construction of Housing schemes and other building projects.
    • Good Building Pathology.
    • Excellent communication skills to articulate issues between the Contractor and the Client Team.
    • Ambition and a willingness to learn whilst demonstrating a high-level of diligence and organisational skills.
    • Knowledge of Building Control/NHBC build standards and understanding of construction elements relating to fire management/compensation.
    • Capability in the use of technology to produce reports using our company reporting system.
    • A current CSCS Card.
