Due to our continuing success and growth, we have an opportunity for a Residential Surveyor / Stock Condition Surveyor to join our team. The role would particularly suit an individual from a residential building surveying background with experience of large-scale stock condition surveys and related asset management. Knowledge of electronic data capture systems is essential.

A career in the Property Consultancy team at Ridge will offer you intellectual challenges and the opportunity to develop and progress in a growing and extremely dynamic sector. As a key point of contact for our clients, a high level of communication skills and commercial awareness will be essential. Along the way, we’ll work with you to develop your skills, expand your professional horizons, and enjoy a happy and fulfilling career as part of our team. Travel to project-related locations is part of the role, mainly within the south of England with the team based in Winchester, Hampshire.

This is a varied role and includes the following:

  • Field-based data collection undertaking stock surveys and providing EPCs
  • Assisting with the management of surveys and co-ordination with fieldwork managers
  • Liaising with the data analysts within the team
  • Undertaking physical reinspections, accompanied visits, and other data on-site QA checks
  • Dealing with confidential data
  • Providing input into asset management advice and support
  • Completing Decent Homes and HHSRS assessments and validations

Appropriate qualifications such as RICS or CIOB would be highly desirable, including knowledge of construction technology relating to residential accommodation. Up-to-date knowledge of current asset management compliance and statutory best practice and regulatory requirements will be essential in advising clients. Additional compliance-related experience and qualifications (e.g., DEA, FPA, NEBOSH, P402/405) would be desirable but not essential (energy assessor training will be provided if not currently held). Attention to detail and a professional demeanour is important. You will ideally be methodical and have a high level of intellect, combining excellent management and oral skills to ensure projects are delivered to a high quality within agreed timelines. It is anticipated the role will require initial and ongoing training in areas where knowledge may be limited, and you will be fully supported by Ridge in gaining this expertise. Experience in related databases (not necessarily within the housing sector) is also required. You should have an analytical mind with excellent written and oral skills to produce considered and robust outputs for the team and clients.
