This is an exciting opportunity to help drive the development and expansion of the Geospatial discipline within Ridge by supporting a new Underground Utilities Survey team. With one of the largest teams of chartered surveyors in the property sector, located in regional offices across the UK, we have a depth and breadth of experience, expertise and local knowledge to support our clients at every stage of property investment, ownership and occupation from acquisition to disposal. We work with a wide range of clients to manage their property portfolios, projects and transactions and due to our continuing success; Ridge and Partners are now looking for a talented Senior Utility Surveyor to join our multi-disciplinary consultancy and to lead a new service offering. As a Utility Surveyor at Ridge you will benefit from on job learning experiences whilst working on prestigious projects. Our projects include large residential, industrial and commercial schemes with contract values over £30 million to much smaller schemes. You will also work with interesting clients including, large retail companies, local authorities, Schools/Universities, contractors, developers etc together with the option to work on exciting overseas projects. Given the nature of this role, this is a rare opportunity to help develop and drive a new team which will present brilliant career development and progression opportunities. Key Responsibilities Undertaking Utility surveys from start to finish Manhole lifting and recording necessary observations and measurements Locating utilities via electromagnetic locators and ground penetrating radar Total Station and GPS/GNSS observations Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties that may arise Produce Utility Survey drawings and reports Production of CAD drawings from survey data Post processing of GPR data You should ideally have: Experience of working with various sub-surface mapping techniques including GPR, electromagnetic location and drainage surveys Experience of working to PAS128 standards, collecting and post-processing of GPR data Previous experience of working with land surveyors and topographical surveys Experience of working with AutoCAD The ability to work both alone and as part of our survey team. The ability to check and critically evaluate work done by others The ability and desire to train others and promote survey best practices The role requires a combination of working within a team office environment whilst also working outdoors on a range of sites. There is a requirement to travel to sites and sometimes work away from home for stretches of time. Depending on the site and how it is being used you may be required to work shifts or out of hours. Skills and Experience Working hours are between the hours of 08:30 and 17:00 with a 1-hour lunch break Working weekends may be required in addition to starting earlier and finishing late on some occasions Full clean diving license is required Travel for work purposes is provided via company or hire cars TPBN1_UKTJ
