This is an exciting opportunity to join Ridge's rapidly expanding Retrofit department. As a built environment consultancy, with a standalone retrofit department, we specialise in providing full Retrofit services to a plethora of clientele in the industry. You will be working on large scale social housing regeneration projects, consisting of the implementation of multiple energy efficiency measures. Some of the projects Ridge has been involved in consist of upwards of 500+ properties at a time and the installation of fabric measures, building appliances & renewable energy.
You will join an interdisciplinary practice and be able to expand your knowledge of the built environment, with the Retrofit team closely collaborating with other in-house disciplines such as architecture, sustainability, engineering, building surveying and more. Ridge also has a Retrofit Development Pathway you will have access to. This pathway allows for direct training, CPD and further retrofit related qualifications, with the aim of progressing and supporting our Retrofit staff develop in their career.
What you need to do to be effective in this role:
- Oversee the retrofit process from start to finish as a Retrofit Coordinator, working closely with Ridge's retrofit assessors, retrofit designers, other retrofit team members as well as installers, contractors and clients.
- Protect the client's and the public's interest, ensuring that projects are safe, high quality and performing to their maximum potential. Aim to mitigate risk and anticipate problems before they arise. Someone with a proactive nature is absolutely key to this role.
- Ensure appropriate integration and communication between teams throughout all stages of the project life cycle and ensuring PAS2035 & Building Regs compliance throughout.
- Carry out energy modelling and produce Improvement Option Evaluation & Medium Term Plans for multiple properties across several projects.
- Ensure projects remain compliant with PAS2035, PAS2030 as well as the necessary DESNZ funding requirements.
- Lodge properties upon completion of works to the Trustmark database ensuring successful lodgements in line with DESNZ funding timescales.
- Provide regular updates and feedback to key stakeholders at scheduled meetings on project progress and ensure tracking of key performance metrics. You will be the key client facing person for Ridge and take on the role of overseeing entire projects.
- Providing advice on energy efficiency measures, which will respond to client objectives such as improving energy efficiency performance, reducing carbon emissions, reducing fuel bills as well as increasing thermal comfort.
- Liaise with key external stakeholders such as social housing providers, asset managers, programme managers, contracts managers, installation contractors and various clienteles within the built environment & social housing industry.
- Collate important documentation such as retrofit assessment data, technical surveys, insurance guarantees and more in line with PAS2035 & PAS2030 compliance, keeping project data and documentation organised and structured.
- Assist retrofit designers with compiling PAS2035 property compliant property design packs.
Skills and Experience:
- Must be highly efficient with technology and using various software such as AirTable, Cotality, Surveyor Pro, Elmhurst.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel.
- Must have driving license to be able to conduct site visits when necessary.
- An analytical mind with a high level of intellect and written skills.
- Must have experience of liaising with key stakeholders, including leading meetings with confidence and responding to project queries proactively.
- Must be highly efficient and experienced in acting as key point of contact and lead for PAS2035 elements of retrofit programmes.
- Must have experience of working with social housing providers and contractors on large scale retrofit projects (SHDF, LAD, HUG etc.).
- Must have Level 5 Retrofit Coordination & Risk Management qualification.
- Experience of retrofit coordination under SHDF schemes.
- Must have Level 3 EEM in Older & Traditional Buildings.
- Consultancy experience and/or a background in retrofit related projects.
- An understanding and/or experience of PAS2035 processes, including producing Improvement Option Evaluations and Medium Term Plans & lodging work with Trustmark.
- Role is hybrid; however, some office days are required.
