The predicted salary is between 30000 - 42000 £ per year.
In this role you will be strengthening and supporting our civil engineering team delivering complex schemes such as industrial and data centre developments. As a Civil Engineering technician, you will form part of the project team designing and modelling full coordinated external works elements including highway, earthworks, drainage and utilities. Working with the wider delivery team you will liaise and coordinate to produce clash free and federated 3D outputs to meet the project programme.
What you need to do to be effective in this role:
- Ability to create and adapt Civils 3D models for drainage, highway and utilities
- Interface with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects i.e. architects, building services engineers, project managers and cost managers
- Produce high quality models and drawings to a good degree of accuracy
- Work closely with the team to coordinate works and manage deliverables
- Manage time to ensure delivery on programme
- Represent Ridge when communicating with the wider design team
- Manage and co-ordinate highways and drainage designs relating to large development infrastructure projects
- Have a good understanding of clash detection processes and problem solving
The skills and experience you need to have for this role:
- Experience in a similar role, ideally within a multi-disciplinary organisation
- Good working knowledge of AutoCAD and in particular Civil 3D
- Experience with Navisworks and 3D clash detection
- A competent user of Infodrainage is desirable
- Previous experience of utilities modelling or data centre projects is preferred
- Design experience on large multi discipline projects
- Experience in drainage (foul and surface) and roadway design
- Experience with designing a wide range of projects from conception through to completion
- Familiarity with Building Information Modelling (BIM) and its application within civil engineering
- A solid understanding of drainage design, SUDS, highways, cut and fill analysis
- Be proficient at design and happy to participate in productive work
- Technical skills, knowledge and experience to find creative solutions for even the most complex challenges and the ability to communicate these clearly to all parties.
- Ability to work within a project design team and coordinate work and deliverables
- Experience with BIM360 or Autodesk Construction Cloud would be beneficial
