We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor ready for a new challenge to join our team in the Leeds office. Our team works in a variety of sectors, including:
- Residential (new build and conversions)
- Industrial
- Commercial (office refurbishments)
- Education
- Local Authority
- Healthcare
The role will be varied and include day to day lead on a variety of projects specifically including:
- Cost Planning (including use of Cost Ex) at various RIBA stages including producing preliminary and detailed cost estimates (from feasibility through to detailed design) and advising architects and engineers on the cost implications of different construction methods, alternative choices of materials, reconciling the Cost Plan to ensure the Project remains within budget and lifecycle costing.
- Pre-Contract services, including:
- Providing advice on procurement strategy, risk management, value engineering and the overall tendering process.
- Provide advice on contract arrangements and conditions under which building will be constructed.
- Prepare tender documents.
- Advising clients on tenders when received, including undertaking a full tender evaluation and advising on alternative proposals.
- Prepare contract documentation.
- Post Contract services, including:
- Providing advice on contractual matters / procedures, valuing completed work and approving progress payments.
- Monitor changes in design and measure, value and negotiate variations.
- Budget management and cost reporting to the client.
- Negotiate final accounts.
- Working closely with the team and mentoring / working with graduates.
- Developing existing client contacts and relationships.
- Developing new client contacts and relationships.
The skills and experience:
- RICS with a minimum of three years membership.
- Have achieved a RICS accredited degree.
- Be able to evidence pre and post contract QS experience through examples of projects you have worked on.
