We are therefore expanding our horizons by establishing a new and exciting discipline focused on Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) and Private Finance Initiative (PFI) projects. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Strategic PFI Advice Manager to lead our efforts in providing expert advice throughout the lifecycle of PFI and PPP projects. This role is crucial in shaping our strategic direction and ensuring our clients receive top-notch guidance that aligns with their project goals and objectives.
What you need to do to be effective in this role:
- Support the delivery advice on PFI/PPP projects, either independently or as part of a multi-disciplinary team to help solve complex public sector challenges, ensuring best practices are followed.
- Build strong relationships with clients (both public and private sector and intermediaries) and navigate stakeholder environments.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assess project feasibility, risks, and financial implications.
- Work across PFI/PPP project lifecycles - from dealing with contract management and operational issues, expiry/termination and subsequent transitional arrangements.
- Conduct thorough market analysis and stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging best practices.
- Prepare high-quality reports and presentations for stakeholders, clearly communicating complex information and recommendations.
- Identifying new opportunities, writing proposals, and supporting the growth of the team.
The skills and experience you need to have for this role:
- Proven experience in PFI/PPP projects with a track record of delivering or working on complex PFI/PPP projects including variations, dispute resolution and operational contract management, ideally in a range of sectors.
- Knowledge of sector-specific legislation and NISTA PFI guidance.
- Strong commercial understanding of public-private contracting, particularly standard PFI contract terms.
- Understanding of the public sector context, their current challenges and future aspirations.
- Excellent project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A track record of effective delivery within or alongside the public sector in a technical, financial or commercial field.
- Excellent written and communication skills will be essential along with the ability to produce business cases, strategic reports, or similar deliverables and the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly.
- Experience of working in multi-disciplinary project teams.
