Your role will include:
Defining and leading Ridge's transport sector growth strategy across areas such as aviation, rail, highways and ports.
Developing new and existing client relationships with transport owners, operators, public bodies, delivery organisations and major programme teams.
Identifying where Ridge's multi-disciplinary capability can add value across capital programmes, major projects and complex infrastructure environments.
Leading business development activity, client engagement and account growth across the transport market.
Working with senior colleagues across Project Management, Cost Consultancy, Building Surveying, Engineering, Architecture, Sustainability, Health & Safety and specialist advisory services to develop joined-up client solutions.
Building and leading multi-disciplinary teams around major opportunities, ensuring clients receive clear, practical and commercially grounded advice.
Helping to shape the future structure, capability and recruitment priorities of the transport offer as the Infrastructure team continues to grow.
Representing Ridge externally within the transport sector, building visibility, credibility and long-term relationships in the market.
This is a role for someone who enjoys the commercial and strategic side of consultancy, but who also understands the realities of delivery. You will need to be comfortable operating at senior client level while staying close enough to the work to understand what clients need, where risks sit and how Ridge can make a tangible difference.
What You'll Be Working On
You will be focused on growing Ridge's work across transport infrastructure, with potential exposure to aviation, rail, highways, ports and associated estate, asset and capital programme environments.
The work is likely to include early-stage advisory, programme and project delivery, cost and commercial input, technical due diligence, asset improvement, sustainability-led interventions, safety and compliance-related advice, and broader multi-disciplinary support across complex transport estates.
Many transport clients are dealing with ageing assets, changing passenger or freight demand, decarbonisation pressures, affordability constraints, regulatory scrutiny and a continuing need to keep operational environments moving while improving them. That combination demands advice that is technically strong, commercially realistic and grounded in practical delivery.
That is where Ridge is well placed.
Our strength lies in bringing together different disciplines around a client need. We are not limited to one technical view of a problem. We can draw on experts across infrastructure, project and programme management, cost consultancy, building surveying, engineering, sustainability, health and safety, architecture and specialist advisory services.
Your role will be to help translate that capability into a clear, credible and compelling transport offer.
About You
You are likely to be operating at Partner, Director or senior leadership level within a consultancy, infrastructure advisory business or client-side capital programme environment.
You will bring:
A strong track record in the transport sector, with experience across one or more of aviation, rail, highways or ports.
Established relationships with transport clients, operators, public sector organisations, programme teams or major project stakeholders.
Proven business development capability, including winning work, growing accounts and identifying opportunities across complex client organisations.
Experience working within or alongside major capital programmes, infrastructure portfolios or large-scale transport projects.
The ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and bring different technical specialists together around a common client objective.
Strong commercial judgement, with an understanding of how consultancy businesses grow sustainably.
Credibility with senior clients and the confidence to advise, challenge and influence at leadership level.
A collaborative approach, with the ability to work across offices, disciplines and sectors.
You do not need to have covered every part of the transport market. xiskglj We are more interested in your ability to build relationships, spot opportunity, lead growth and create a clear direction for the sector.
