Our Property Consultancy team provides strategic advice and guides clients through a full spectrum of property consultancy, housing asset management and compliance related activities within the affordable housing sector. The team has provided valuable placement student experience in residential stock condition surveying. The role would particularly suit an individual seeking a placement/year out opportunity currently studying a surveying, building or built environment qualification. A placement in the Property Consultancy team at Ridge will offer you intellectual challenges and the opportunity to develop and progress in a growing and extremely dynamic sector.
As a key point of contact for our clients, a high level of communication skills and commercial awareness will be essential. Along the way, we’ll work with you to develop your skills now, expand your professional horizons and enjoy a happy and fulfilling time as part of our team. Travel to project related locations is part of the role, from either our Manchester or Winchester offices. A valid driving licence is essential for carrying out this role.
Role And Responsibilities- Field-based data collection, undertaking stock surveys and providing EPCs (DEA training would be provided)
- Assisting with the management of surveys and co-ordination with fieldwork managers
- Liaising with the data analysts within the team
- Undertaking physical reinspections, accompanied visits and other data on site QA checks
- Dealing with confidential data
- Providing input into asset management advice and support
- Completing Decent Homes and HHSRS assessments and validations
- Valid driving licence
- Education to A level standard or equivalent
- Studying towards appropriate qualifications such as BSc/ONC/HND in a construction or building related subject, including knowledge of technology relating to residential accommodation
- DBS checks are compulsory
- Willingness to undertake training in asbestos awareness, lone working, HHSRS and the decent homes standard and other related domestic surveying matters which will be provided as required
- Attention to detail and a professional demeanour is important
- You will ideally be methodical and have a high level of intellect - combining excellent management and communication skills to ensure projects are delivered to a high quality within agreed timelines
- It is anticipated the role will require initial training in areas where knowledge may be limited and you will be fully supported by Ridge in gaining this expertise
- You should have an analytical mind with excellent written and oral skills to produce considered and robust outputs for the team and clients
