Ridge recently acquired Driven International Ltd - a multidisciplinary practice offering architecture, engineering, visualisation and design of sports, leisure, driving and motorsport destinations. We push the boundaries of creativity and use of technology, bringing a fresh-thinking approach to the design of unique and sustainable venues. Our team is comprised of passionate, experienced and qualified design directors, architects, engineers and technicians collaborating from our design studio in Hampshire in the United Kingdom. We provide a full service from feasibility and concept design to detailed engineering, construction and operational support.
Due to recent growth, we are seeking new talent to join our team delivering UK and International motorsports, sports and leisure projects. The ideal candidate will have the ability to split their work across our track design, master planning and Civil Engineering team, giving a unique opportunity to develop your design or engineering career with a motorsports specialism. The primary focus of the role will range from undertaking conceptual layout design, to developing these to engineering packages under the guidance of Principals within the business. A strong focus of the role will be producing designs in 2D & 3D within industry standard software packages as well as developing accompanying details and specifications. This role would ideally suit a candidate with experience or an interest in either master planning/urban design, civil engineering or motorsport engineering. A strong passion & knowledge of motorsport is essential.
What Youโll Be Doing
- Working as a project civil engineer on large scale sports and leisure schemes, predominately racing tracks or driving venues.
- The role will involve working closely with our inhouse Architect and CAD technicians, but will report directly to our Principal Civil Engineer.
- Producing the required project technical drawings, civil engineering designs (pavements, kerbs, drainage, earthworks, road layouts) and 3D civil engineering models into client deliverables.
- This may include detailed 2D plans, cross sections, 3D profiles, 3D models and engineering calculations/reports.
- Designing new innovative civil engineering solutions and standard details for race tracks, driving venues and sports/leisure developments.
- Developing new simulation techniques and methods to improve design efficiency.
- Working with the Principal Engineer to manage technical project deliverables to ensure Driven are meeting its scope of services and timelines agreed with the client.
- Attending site visits, design workshops and meetings with clients and Driven staff in the UK and potentially overseas.
- Contributing to the design and preparation of commercial proposals and marketing documents for new company ventures.
Your Skills And Experience
- Is qualified (Higher Education) in a Civil Engineering discipline and ideally has some good industry experience.
- Has experience of working on technical design drawings on major infrastructure, planning or civil engineering projects within a medium-large scale design organization.
- Experience of producing client reports and technical drawings for external issue.
- Experience in 3D modelling of highways, earthworks, drainage and infrastructure would be advantageous.
- Ability to work independently on design drawings, but under supervision of a design manager on the overall scheme.
- Confident liaising with external consultants or clients on technical issues.
- Is highly competent in the use of Microstation or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Has ideally started progressing with the ICE towards IEng/CEng, but this isnโt essential.
