Role and Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a design team delivering calculations, reports, performance, and detailed design solutions.
  • Use specialist computer-aided design (CAD) and BIM (Revit) software and other resources to design compliant systems solutions.
  • Undertake design calculations to support and demonstrate compliance with client requirements aligned to the proposed solution.
  • Undertake site surveys and capture relevant data, including initial surveys, ongoing site inspections, defect recording, and witnessing.
  • Review construction design details and provide comments.
  • Liaise closely with other professionals, including structural engineers, architects, surveyors, and contractors within in-house and external project teams.
  • Attend a range of project group and technical meetings.
  • Ensure that the design and maintenance of building systems meet legislative and health and safety requirements.

Experience and Skills Required

  • Experience in design solutions from conception to completion, including calculations, drawings, and specifications, aligned with RIBA stages and BSRIA BG6.
  • Qualification with a Building Services degree or higher educational qualification (HNC/HND).
  • Revit software experience is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of IES modelling would be beneficial.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.

Ridge operates an accredited mentor scheme for registration with the Engineer Council to obtain EngTech/IEng/CEng qualifications.
