We are Ridge, a Built Environment Consultancy delivering solutions that shape communities and future cities. Our 2026 EVOLVE graduate programme invites Fire Engineering graduates to launch a meaningful career in Fire Engineering, based in either our London or Manchester office. The programme starts in October and can accommodate earlier starts.
Overview
The programme is a two‑year, on‑the‑job learning experience that supports the next generation of Built Environment professionals. As a Graduate Fire Engineer you will work on prestigious projects, from design to in‑occupation services, and develop expertise in fire strategy, risk analysis, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Prepare fire strategy reports and collaborate closely with stakeholders throughout the design process.
- Assist clients in meeting legal requirements under the Building Safety Act 2022, Building Regulations 2010, and Fire Safety Order.
- Support Fire Engineers in analysing fire risk and recommending control measures.
- Contribute to a variety of building types and sectors, tackling diverse fire safety challenges.
- Collect site data, write schedules of works, prepare specifications, obtain estimates, plan programmes, monitor progress and check compliance.
- Apply practical and methodical problem‑solving skills, working to fixed budgets and tight deadlines.
- Provide advice on Building Regulations approval applications concerning fire matters.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or predicted 2:1) in Fire Engineering.
- Available to start full‑time from 5 October 2026.
- Permanent Right to Work in the UK without sponsorship.
- Curious, eager to learn, and passionate about the Built Environment.
