We are currently seeking a Geo-Environmental Engineer to work on new and existing projects across southern England. The role will primarily involve Phase 1 and Phase 2 Site Investigations and will sit within our Geo-Environmental Consultancy Department. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build on their early career experience and take on more responsibility within a supportive, experienced team.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, delivering and reporting of Phase 1 and Phase 2 Geo-Environmental and Geotechnical site investigations.
  • Liaison with Clients, sub-contractors, other Ridge Teams, Regulators and stakeholders.
  • Logging soil and rock samples to a competent and consistent standard.
  • Scheduling and managing laboratory testing.
  • Conducting soil and groundwater risk assessments.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues, clients and contractors on site and in the office.

You’ll work on a wide range of projects, largely involving the redevelopment of brownfield sites, and will have the opportunity to play an active role in project delivery while continuing to develop your technical and professional skills. Projects include motorsport, defence, residential, retail, manufacturing, leisure and commercial developments.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A relevant degree in Geology, Environmental Science or a related discipline (postgraduate qualification desirable).
  • Experience in a geo-environmental or related consultancy role.
  • Willingness to take ownership of projects and pride in their work.
  • Strong communication and report-writing skills, good attention to detail.
  • A good working knowledge of current contamination topics, guidance and legislation.
  • Experience of, or exposure to, asbestos regulations, testing and risk assessment (desirable).
  • Sound geotechnical knowledge, including soil and rock logging.
  • A full UK driving licence and regular use of a car.
