Building Surveyor (Chartered) role at Ridge and Partners LLP in Leeds. Due to continued business growth, this is a great opportunity for a Chartered Building Surveyor to join our team in Leeds. We have depth and breadth of experience, expertise, and local knowledge to support our clients at every stage of property investment, ownership, and occupation from acquisition to disposal. The role offers the chance to be part of an ambitious team that continues to grow in line with the company growth strategy. The successful candidate will join a team of building surveyors covering professional and project-related building surveying across a wide range of sectors including educational, commercial, industrial, etc. Our team has a broad-based background and is highly motivated with varying levels of experience, making it an ideal place to progress your career.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop detailed briefs in conjunction with the client and senior colleagues
  • Establish and maintain client relationships
  • Support business development activities by senior colleagues
  • Carry out site surveys (including measured surveys, condition surveys and defect analysis)
  • Produce designs and specifications including preparation of tender documentation
  • Administer building contracts (JCT and NEC)
  • Undertake all aspects of professional surveying work (including condition surveys, specific defect analysis, party wall consultancy, dilapidations, insurance inspections and claims advice). Plus, reinstatement cost assessment valuations
  • Liaise with clients, contractors and other consultants (internal and external)
  • Assist the team leader with project finances, recruitment, mentoring and team leadership

Qualifications

  • MRICS Chartered
  • Well organised, diligent, and proactive
  • A full driving licence
  • Good IT skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, AutoCAD, NBS and other software)

You will also need to be personable, presentable and have good communication skills in this client-facing role. An ability to produce your own documentation based on our standards is essential, as is the ability to organise and manage your time efficiently across multiple projects.
