The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished Building Surveyor who is looking to take the next step in their career within a collaborative, employee-owned consultancy.

As the Building Surveyor Associate Partner, you will play a key leadership role in helping drive the Bristol Building Surveying team to the next level.

The position has been created to provide additional senior resilience within the team, enabling existing leadership to focus more strategically on business growth, client development and market opportunities.

You will be instrumental in maintaining a highly organised and efficient team structure, ensuring an effective balance of experience and seniority across the Bristol office.

Working closely with senior leadership, you will support the continued development of the team, strengthen client relationships, and help deliver the business plan for Building Surveying in the South West.

Alongside leading a range of professional and project-led Building Surveying instructions, you will contribute to the strategic direction of the team, mentor colleagues, support business development initiatives, and play a significant role in the ongoing success and growth of the Bristol office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver a wide range of professional and project-led Building Surveying services.
  • Manage and develop key client relationships across the South West and nationally.

  • Technical due diligence
  • Dilapidations
  • Planned preventative maintenance programmes
  • Contract administration
  • Defect diagnosis
  • Party wall matters
  • Refurbishment and alteration projects
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities.
  • Support fee proposals, tenders and framework submissions.
  • Mentor and develop junior surveyors and graduates.
  • Contribute to the leadership and growth of the Bristol Building Surveying team.
  • Work collaboratively with other disciplines across the business to provide integrated client solutions.

About You

We are looking for a commercially aware and client-focused Building Surveyor with strong leadership capabilities and a proactive approach to business development.

Essential Requirements

  • MRICS qualified.
  • Significant Building Surveying experience gained within a consultancy environment.
  • Strong knowledge of professional and project work.
  • Proven ability to manage and grow client relationships.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary projects and teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Commercially minded with a track record of generating work and developing opportunities.
