Due to the success of the current team, we are looking to expand by recruiting an experienced Building Surveyor and/or Architect with a proven track record of practical experience in construction, particularly defects analysis. This is an opportunity for someone wishing to work as part of an established specialist team on a range of technical disputes. Previous experience as an Expert Witness is preferred, enabling the candidate to handle instructions independently with support as needed.
The role is flexible regarding location, with preferred bases in London, Manchester, Birmingham, or Bristol. Note that a minimum of 10 years’ professional experience in a similar role is required.
Ridge Expert Witness Advisory Services (EWAS) is a team of construction experts supporting solicitors in property litigation, including Building Surveying, Architectural, Fire, Structural, and Services experts.
Role Responsibilities:
- Defects inspections and expert report writing (training provided)
- Desktop reviews of information
- Attending expert meetings and drafting joint statements
- Providing oral and written evidence in Court or tribunals, including cross-examination
